NRCS offering landowners money for use of their land.

(Local Importance) The Natural Resources Conservation Service is offering a new round of funding for it’s Agricultural Conservation Easements.

New Media Broadcasters spoke with Shawna Taylor, an Acting Assistant State Conservationist, to get more information.

“The agricultural conservation easement program is a voluntary easement program for working land aimed to protect the ag viability and related conservation values of eligible land. We do that through limiting non-ag uses which could negatively affect the ag usage and conservation values.”

The NRCS says that interested landowners can apply by logging into their farmers.gov account.
