(Hill County) A recall petition has been filed in Hill County calling for a special election which would put current Hill County Commissioner Sheri Williams’ position in jeopardy.
The petition has until August 12th to gather around 2,000 signatures in order for the issue to make it onto the November ballot, and around 700 of those need to be from Williams’ own district, District 2.
Williams did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

We, the undersigned qualified electors of Hill County, State of Montana respectfully petition that an election be held as provided by law on the question of whether Sheri Williams, holding the office of Hill County Commissioner District 2, State of Montana should be recalled for the following reasons:
In the elected capacity given to her by the public, Commissioner Williams has violated her Oath of office, demonstrates gross incompetence as a commissioner and public servant, adversely affects administration of office, rights and public interest, raising serious concerns about credibility, transparency, accountability, potential misconduct formal censure filed 12/26/2024;
engages in harassment, intimidation, bullying, creating a hostile, abusive environment in violation of ethical and professional standards directly to: Rudyard volunteers 12/12/24,12/14/24, executive assistant 2023-5/2025, MCA2023-2-2-103,121,105;
employees complaint filed 12/26/24, constituents complaints filed 12/15/24,12/16/24,1/22/25,1/25/25, 3/13/25, 4/17/25;
to County Attorney 3/27/25, 4/7/25, 4/10/25, 4/15/25;
