(NMB) The Havre Blue Ponies basketball teams split with Custer County in Miles City on Friday night. The Pony boys fell in game one by a final of 55 to 45. Havre Trailed 30-22 at the half. The Ponies went on a 12 to 3 run in the third quarter and trailed by 2, 43 to 41 at the end of third quarter. Havre was outscored 12 to 4 in the fourth and lost by the 55 to 45 final. Dax Ostwalt led the way for Havre with 18 points and 8 rebounds.
In the girl’s game the Ponies jumped out to a 24 to 7 first quarter lead and cruised to the victory. The final score was Havre 65, Custer County 43. Havre had three in double figures led by Amaya Jarvis with 17 points, Katie Tilleman chipped in 15 and Ella Harber had 13 points.
The Ponies basketball teams will split up on Saturday. The boys will be at home versus Billings Central, tip is 4pm. The girls will be at Billings Central, that game also tips at 4pm and can be heard live on KOJM.
