(NMB) The Havre High Tennis Team is sending 7 kids to the State Class “A” Tournament in Bozeman this Thursday and Friday, and head Coach George Ferguson says he expects them to play well. ” The seven kids, the five boys and two girls that are headed to Bozeman are playing at a very high level and I fully expect that to continue down there.”
Representing the boys team will be Josh Currie in Singles. Havre is sending two doubles teams, Trenton Maloughney and Caleb Spangler along with Carter Spangler and Theron Peterson. Competing for the girls will be doubles team Grace Krantz and Courtney Burchard.
The Havre Boys are the defending state champions and Coach Ferguson says, this years tourney is wide open. ” You have to put Miles City up there, they just beat us at Divisionals and qualified some really good players. They have the defending singles champ. It’s really just like it was last year, very wide open.”
