Havre softball continued its stretch of games for the week, hosting Sidney at home on Thursday night. The result was another run-rule victory for the Blue Ponies, (12-2) in five innings.
Rachel Jette got the party started in the first inning with a three-run home run, which was her third of the season. Ainsley Courtnage would double home a run later in the inning. The next at-bat would result in a sacrifice fly. More damage would be done in the next frame as Camille Keeley recorded an RBI single. After a fielder’s choice to score another run, Kamree Oliver smacked an RBI single.
The third inning provided more foot traffic as a double and single pushed the run-rule into effect, but the Eagles got two runs back in the fourth inning. Bree Hanson provided a monster night at the plate, collecting four hits, including an RBI triple in the fifth inning before the game was ended on a fielder’s choice.
Jette was cool on the mound, tossing six strikeouts on five hits and allowing zero earned runs.
The Blue Ponies (6-3) will be at the Bette Paskey Memorial tournament in Frenchtown next weekend.
