(Havre) – The United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and
the Bureau of Reclamation will be holding a public meeting in Havre to request input on a project to make improvements to the St. Mary Canal.
The canal, which is in the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, falls under the Bureau of Reclamation’s Milk River Project and will see improvements made to it to increase water delivery reliability and public safety while supporting existing agricultural lands. This meeting is one of several that will be held in the area to gather public comments and answer questions about the project itself.
The meeting will take place at the Best Western Plus Havre Inn &Suites July 18th from 11:30am to 12:30pm. A meeting in Malta will also take place at the Great Northern Hotel the same day from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.
