HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Although the Back to School Bash that provides Havre children in need with supplies every August is still on as scheduled, the way they raise money has changed.
Christy Edmonds, Chair of the Back to School Bash, says they usually raise the $1,200 needed to buy new shoes by hosting a barbeque cook-off.
However, due to the pandemic, they are now going to hold a pair of raffles instead. The first, which will take place on May 15th from 5 to 9 PM at the Girl Scout shed, will feature a variety of gift baskets.
“There’s a devotion basket. It’s got Bibles and highlighters and things that have to do with devotion. I know there’s a booze basket, there’s an ice cream basket that’s going to be lots of ice cream toppings.”
There will also be a separate raffle for a pair of paddleboards. That raffle runs from May 15th to June 19th.
Raffle tickets for the gift baskets are $1, while the paddleboard tickets are $10.
Tickets can be purchased at the Girl Scout House or by sending a message on Facebook to either Christy Edmonds or the Back to School Bash page.
