(Billings) Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks issued a reminder on July 27th to remain vigilant about attractant management in Red Lodge due to the number of habituated and food-conditioned bears.
Currently a yearling black bear has gotten into two vehicles, entered a home and two garages, stolen a backpack, and approached people.This is unnatural bear behavior and is the direct result of this bear finding human or pet food item and becoming dependant upon them. This behavior can put humans at risk as well as risk the safety of the bear.
