TIBER, Mont. (NMB) – The Rocky Boy’s Water Treatment Plant Phase 1 Project achieved the 90% design milestone in May and is transitioning to the bidding phase. A press release says that due to the expedited schedule, the team pushed to deliver the design of the 11 million gallon per day treatment plant and started immediately on the bidding phase nearly one month ahead of schedule. The original estimated cost for the plant was $60 million and following the design effort, the cost is now estimated at $52 million.
The plant will treat water via a conventional treatment process.
The bidding process will be focused on the construction of the main plant building and the majority of equipment essential to treating water. The plant will not be able to produce treated water until completion of the remaining infrastructure including yard piping, ground storage reservoir, recycle pump house, intake pumps and other remaining components needed to convey raw water from Tiber Dam, through the plant, and then across the site.
