(Havre) – On July 27th on Highway 87, mile post 102.7 by Box Elder a black and white camper trailer caught fire blocking traffic temporarily.
The camper which was being towed by a pickup had been traveling southbound on Highway 87 when the vehicle caught fire. The driver was unaware of the fire at first but eventually stopped the vehicle where the camper was then engulfed by the blaze. Hill County Fire Department, Hill County Sheriff, Bear Paw Volunteer Fire Department, and Montana State Patrol arrived on the scene at 9:50 am. Montana Highway Patrol and Hill County sheriff blocked off the road while Hill County Fire and Bear Paw Fire put out the vehicle and doused the surrounding roadway.
Both lanes were reopened to traffic once the fire was contained at 11:20 am.
