The US Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced the creation of the Tribal College Small Business Achievement (TCSBA) grant, to support economic development for Native Americans.
Through financial assistance to Tribal Colleges and Universities, the grants seek to empower student entrepreneurs and local small businesses to affect a substantial economic impact on their local communities. Successful business startups, job creation and retention, and an uptick in company revenues are among the vehicles to measure this impact.
The initial grants will help fund opportunities with up to $250,000 yearly, for up to five years.
Among the four new TCSBA grantees is the Salish and Kootenai College in Pablo.
