HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Small Business Administration’s National Rural Affairs Director and Region 8 Administrator Dan Nordberg discussed the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) that replaced the North American Fair Trade Agreement (NAFTA) just last week.
Nordberg said, “The USMCA breaks new ground for small businesses in rural America. This agreement means stronger economic growth, more jobs for workers and fairer trade for our county. Throughout this process, the Administration has delivered for American manufacturers, farmers, businesses and workers – truly putting America first. The USMCA will drive job creation in rural markets and includes the strongest, most advanced and most comprehensive set of labor provisions of any U.S. trade agreement, building the framework for entrepreneurs to fulfill their American Dream.”
The USMCA is set to highlight e-commerce trade with expanded transactions and clearance. The agreement will also enlarge U.S. food and agricultural trade to foreign parties and is predicted to increase Canada and Mexico’s accessibility into the U.S. agricultural market.
USMCA offically replaced NAFTA Wednesday, July 1.
