Senator Tim Sheehy co-sponsors bill that would repeal death tax.

(US Senate) US Senator for Montana Tim Sheehy announced he’s joining Senate Majority Leader John Thune in reintroducing legislation that would permanently repeal the federal estate tax, commonly known as the death tax.

Sheehy’s office says that the bill, The Death Tax Repeal Act, would end what he is calling a purely punitive tax that can hit family-run farms, ranches, and businesses as the result of the owner’s death.

Sheehy joins as one of around 44 other co-sponsors, including fellow Montana Senator Steve Daines.
