ROCKY BOY, Mont. (NMB) – The latest surge in COVID-19 case across the Hi-Line is continuing to cause disruptions to everyday life, especially for area schools.
Rocky Boy and Box Elder School Districts announced on Friday that they will be staying in remote learning for another week, with the hope to return to in-person learning on Monday, January 31st.
Rocky Boy administration said they came to their decision after consulting with the Rocky Boy Health Center, while Box Elder Superintendent Jeremy MacDonald said their decision was made due to the continued local outbreak of COVID-19.
This comes after Hays-Lodgepole and Dodson School Districts had previously announced they would remain in remote learning for at least the next week.
Harlem Public Schools has remained in in-person learning so far, but a special School Board meeting is set for Monday afternoon based on a request from the Fort Belknap Indian Community that they go remote.
Aaniiih Nakoda College is in remote learning except for labs, nursing classes and Industrial Trades courses through Wednesday the 26th.
Stone Child College has been in remote learning for the latter portion of this week, and it is unclear if they will be open for in-person learning next week.
