(Shelby) The Shelby Toole County Transportation Safety Committee/DUI Task Force recently held a contest for students, with the task of creating artwork based on safe driving.
The contest was open to junior and senior high school students, and three piece of artwork were awarded cash prizes. In a Facebook Post, the City of Shelby announced Byrdie Wray was awarded 1st place and 100 dollars; Eleanor Heaton, second place and 50 dollars; and Sierra Hildebrandt, 3rd place and 25 dollars.
Shelby Elementary students also participated: Ms. Kiefer’s 1st grade class won, receiving $50 for a pizza party and Mrs. Koschmeder’s 4th grade class received honorable mention and $25 for special treats
