Havre, MT (NMB) – The Montana State University – Northern Rodeo teams had great success at the University of Montana Rodeo this past weekend in Missoula.
The Skylights rodeo team finished first in the team championship. Pacing the Skylights was Mikenna Schauer who was the Women’s All Around champion at the UM Rodeo. In Breakaway Roping Schauer placed first in the long go, second in the short round, and first in the average. In Goat Tying, Schauer was third in the long go, seventh in the short round and seventh in average. Also in goat tying, Jill Marcenko was eighth in the long go, fourth in the short round and sixth in the average. Breakaway Roping saw Kassidy Williamson finish eighth in the long go, first in the short round and second in the average. In Barrel Racing Brittney Cox was second in the long go, and fifth in the Average.
The Lights Men’s team was also successful in Missoula finishing third as a team. Garrett Cunningham was third in the long go, first in the short round, and first in the average in Saddle Bronc Riding. Bareback riding saw Taylor Young finish second in the long go, and second in the average and in Tie Down Roping, Lincoln Yarama was first in the short go , third in the short round and third in the average.
This was the last regular season rodeo for the cowgirls and cowboys of MSU-Northern.
