(NMB) The MSU Northern Skylights Basketball program will hold the first of their two summer camps June 19th through the 22nd. The Middle School camp is for grades six through nine and Skylights Head Coach Chris Mouat says the camp will work on all aspects of the game. “We really try to combine fundamentals as well as team play, competitions, that kind of stuff. It’s a unique setting, those kids get to stay in the dorms, eat in the food service, you know, they’re kind of a big deal for the week. We really look forward to it.”
At the end of the camp, each participant will get an evaluation. Something Mouat thinks is valuable and important. “I grew up going to camps where that was the norm and so I guess I’m old school enough that I think it’s important when I put players to coach these young kids that they give them their opinions on their game and try to help them with some advice. They are valuable, they’re generally very positive but I think they are also realistic an I thin that’s important.”
