Havre, MT – Going into the 2025-2026 basketball season, head coach of the Skylights Chris Mouat knew that rebounding would be a question mark with his undersized team.
At the beginning of the season, coach Mouat said this year’s squad was the smallest he had and that rebounding would be an emphasis as a result.
“Well I think they’re pretty tough and I think they’re pretty smart, and I think they put a lot of effort into rebounding. We’ve gone and practiced against guys who are much bigger and stronger, and we tell to go get a rebound on them. We have worked on, we have emphasized it and I think anything you emphasize and work on you should be good at if you spend the time. I they have really bought into that and we are going to be playing teams that are bigger than us all year long, so we just have to find a way to continue doing it.” coach Mouat said
The Skylights are 3-2 on the season and through those five games, the Skylights are plus 6.6 in per game rebounding margin and have out rebounded their opponents 205-172.
Northern will look to continue to battle for rebounds as they host Stephens College Saturday, Nov. 29 at 5p.m. inside Armory Gym.
