MSU-Northern volleyball has been busy this offseason, signing multiple recruits for the 2025 season and beyond. New Media Broadcasters caught up with head coach Jerry Wagner and he shared what he has built thus far and what he is still trying to build.
“With that regard, we’re still in the process,” Wagner said. “I’ve communicated with the folks we need, but all-in-all, just trying to get the right fit.”
“Our personality is something that I’m very happy with,” Wagner continued. “These kids fit the bill that have decided to be Skylights thus far.”
Coach Wagner shared more plans for what the future looks like and what he has seen his team be able to achieve. For context, the Skylights have played two spring matches at Medicine Hat College recently.
“Our strength (is) our teamwork and I don’t take that lightly,” Wagner said. “We’re very defense, ball control at a high level-minded right now.”
“What you’re going to see in the spring is we have some frontcourt players that we’ve been trying to recruit and keep the level of our gym very high, which it was last year as far as competitiveness,” Wagner continued.
“(I’m) really (getting) ready to establish a team and find out how this team can be highly successful,” Wagner said.
