(Havre) – The Havre Fire Department will issue stage 1 fire restrictions on August 4th at 12 am due to the recent wildland fires throughout the state along with forecasted weather patterns and fire conditions worsening.
Stage 1 restrictions prohibit building and maintaining, attending or using a fire or campfire and smoking unless inside an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site or while stopped in an area three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of flammable material.
Exceptions to the rules include persons with a written permit, persons using a device fueled by petroleum or LPG fuels that can be turned on and off, persons conducting activity in areas where the activity is authorized, and any federal state, or local officer or member of an organized rescue of firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.
