Sugarbeeters Basketball: Ladies Roll While Boys Still Have Work to do

The Chinook Sugarbeeters Basketball Teams played two games over the weekend. Friday night hosting Harlem while traveling Saturday to Turner.

The Boys Basketball Team lost both contests, (75-64) vs Harlem and (35-62) at Turner. Friday’s game vs the Wildcats was a (35-36) score at halftime before Harlem pulled away in the second half. Brenden Fetter scored a game-high 36 points, coming off a 39-point performance in the previous game vs Hays. It was enough however, as Jackson Nordboe (10pts) was the only other Sugarbeeter to hit double digits. The Saturday loss at Turner was still within grasp at halftime with a (16-27) score. Ryan Doyle of Turner (29pts) helped pull away in the second half. Brenden Fetter of Chinook lead the team with 15 points, no other Sugarbeeter had double figures.

The Lady Sugarbeeters continue their dominant season. With wins (54-32) vs Harlem and (63-26) over the weekend, the Sugarbeeters improve to 16-0 on the season. Chinook outscored the Wildcats (20-8) in the first quarter and never looked back. Hallie Neibauer (19pts) and Alexis Seymour (16pts) led the way. Against the Tornadoes the Sugarbeeters forced 22 turnovers on defense while Alexus Seymour led the team with 24 points. The two wins come with key players missing games, Bree Swanson and Torin Cecrle remain out as they try to get healthy before tournament season arrives. Anna Terry, Jenna Liddle, and Mya Berreth have stepped up well for the Sugarbeeters.

Chinook is back in action Friday, when they play North Star for their Senior Night.
