Havre, MT – Friday night Sugarbeeter football took down Roky Boy 76-0.
Chinook got out to a big 42-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Head coach Mike Jones played four different quarterbacks in this game with the stater, Ryan Bell, only playing a few drives in the first quarter. The others to play the position for coach Jones, were Patrick McKinzie, Lane Wicks, and Bryce Elliott.
Coach said there was one thing he wanted his quarterbacks to work on in the blowout. “Reading the defense right. So, when they run the ball, they’re responsible for somebody and so their ability to read that and make the correct read and just run hard like a running back. We try to tell our quarterbacks you’re not a true quarterback you’re a runner that can throw the ball.”
The sugarbeaters also forced six turnovers with four of them turning into pick-six’s.
Chinook is on the road this week against Fort Benton. Kickoff is at 7p.m. and you can listen on KRYK.
