(Havre) Sunnyside School teacher Jenna Mcnew was recognized Tuesday for her accomplishment by the local VFW post in Havre in an afternoon ceremony, which she says came as a complete surprise.
New Media Broadcasters spoke with Mcnew after the ceremony.
“It’s… I don’t do this for the awards or the honors but it’s still nice to be recognized, especially by the veterans they do so much for us. To be recognized by them is just, very gratifying”
Mcnew received a plaque with a transparent, crystal apple adorning the top, as well as gift certificates from the Havre Area Chamber of commerce to be spent at local businesses.
