HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The alleged driver and a passenger in the Havre high-speed vehicle pursuit on the night of December 22 appeared in Hill County District Court on Monday morning.
The alleged driver, 18-year-old Jaden James Black Tongue of Great Falls, appeared in person after previously posting bail. He pleaded not guilty to three felony counts of criminal endangerment and three misdemeanors, including driving under the influence of alcohol, operation of a vehicle by a person under 21 with an alcohol concentration of .02 or more, and fleeing from or eluding a Peace Officer.
No future court dates have been set for Black Tongue.
One of the alleged passengers, 18-year-old Jaylen Jake Crazyboy of Great Falls, appeared by video from the Hill County Detention Center. Crazyboy is accused of violating the conditions of his release in two Hill County District Court cases.
The conditions of Crazyboy’s release he is accused of breaking include being out past curfew, not being a law-abiding citizen, and being under the influence of alcohol. The court said that his blood alcohol concentration was .14 when officers tested him on the morning of Dec. 23.
Crazyboy denied the three charges that he violated conditions of his release.
The court denied an attempt by the defense to have Crazyboy released from the detention center on his own recognizance. An evidentiary hearing was then set for January 23 at 11:15 AM.
An initial hearing has also been set for Crazyboy for a separate case, in which he faces 26 felony counts. That hearing is scheduled for Jan. 13 at 3:15 PM.
