Tax relief bill could benefit 46,000 Montanan children

(Montana) A bill currently being reviewed by congress, titled the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act, could affect Montana families in a big way.

The bill would raise child tax credits across the country to eighteen hundred dollars, and then increase it by one hundred dollars each year for the next two years.

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities says this would lift half a million American children out of poverty, 46,000 of which would be Montanans.

As of now, the bill is currently in the United States Senate.
