Havre, MT – Conference realignment can often times have negative impact on the non major sports.
This is part 14 of the Frontier Conference realignment brake down series with Montana State University -Northern Athletic Director Christien Oberquell.
In the last brake down Oberquell talked about the major travel adjustments for basketball. Today MSU-Northern AD explains what will happen with non-major sports like Wrestling, Rodeo and track,
“Wrestling is going to stay in the Cascade (Conference), Rodeo will stay in the National Collegiate Athletic Conference.” Oberquell Said. For track . . . we kind kind of pick and choose where we go with that. We are adding indoor track and that conference will include the North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska schools.”
Unlike the Major sports, Wrestling and Rodeo will see very little changes to their schedules, but Track will have the addition of the Dakota and Nebraska schools as well as the addition of an indoor track season.
This has been the Frontier Conference realignment brake down series with MSU-Northern Athletic Director Christien Oberquell. Lights football opens the season August 30, at Tilman field vs Carroll college.
