There’s an undeniable trend happening in American agriculture.
Local farmer Bob Quin explains that trend.
“That organic is the fastest growing segment of agriculture now, and even though we’re only six percent of the entire food sales in America at the current rate of growth and in another 30 years we’ll be 100 percent. So, it’s the future.”-Bob Quin
But before organic can become the primary method of farming Bob Quin explains that there are still some challenges that need to be solved.
“Well, I think the challenges are, first of all, weed management. We’ve got some perennial weeds now that are getting pretty tough to handle and we need to figure out biological controls of those. So, there’s some of those kinds of things that we really need some research and help understanding and solving.”-Bob Quin
