Montana wildlife has experienced an amazing comeback. Marc Kloker from Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks explains that comeback.
“There’s a great book and I think they made a DVD or video, there might be one at the office in Havre, that’s called Back From the Brink. Basically what it focuses on is all of our quintessential wildlife species, big game species in particular in the state, and how at the turn of the century they were basically almost 100 percent eliminated between elk, sheep that used to be in the breaks, deer, white tail, and mule deer, and the story it basically is how through wildlife agencies, through landowner efforts, through a lot of different groups brought these animals back from the brink to where now we have thriving populations of these species. So, it’s a pretty neat story and it’s one that I think should be shared more often for sure.” -Marc Kloker
