HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The 2020 Havre High School Baccalaureate Program will be held online Sunday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m.
Hill County Coalition Coordinator Tina Thomas said their online program will feature clergy, student presidents and a performance by the HHS A Capella women’s group.
“The 2020 Baccalaureate Program is being recorded and will be posted online on Sunday, May 17th around 8 p.m. There will be messages from the Student Body President, Katelyn Maloughney, the Senior Class President, Jessalyn Chvilicek, along with messages from three clergy from our community: Father Dan Watham from St. Judes, Reverend Jamie Stoll from Assembly of God and Bishop Brian Williams from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. There will also be a performance by the HHS A Capella women’s group. We are very appreciative that Reverend Jamie Stoll with the help of Mike Atkinson will be recording the messages and the performance and editing them into one program. We plan to post the program online in a format that can easily be shared with family and friends.”
Thomas said they will be including their Carry the Light Ceremony but they’ve made some changes due to COVID-19.
“Since the format of the original Baccalaureate Program included a Carry the Light Ceremony which encouraged the graduates to share their lights and gifts with the world as they go forward, we wanted to make sure we continued to focus on that message. We are asking the community to join us in shining lights in and around their homes for the Senior class at 20:20 (8:20 p.m.) for at least two hours on Sunday May 17. The NorthStar baseball stadium and the 5th Avenue softball field will be lit up during that time. We are hoping the whole community will join in by shining some blue or white lights.”
At 8:20 p.m. tomorrow the community is invited to turn on all their lights to show support for Havre’s 2020 graduates. The Baccalaureate Program will start online at 7:30 p.m.
