HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre Jaycees Fireworks display is set for Saturday, July 4th at the Great Northern Fairgrounds and will start between 10-10:30 p.m.
Kevin Holmes of the Havre Jaycees said they worked closely with the health department to make this happen and they can’t wait to celebrate this Independence Day with the community.
“I am really excited that we are able to do the firework display this year. The Havre Jaycees is a leadership organization and we really look forward to helping the youth in the community be able to move forward and progress themselves in life whether its professional, or personal development or just if they want to help their local communities – this is a really good way to do it. For me personally I love this project myself and it’s one of my favorites and I’m just glad we’re able to do it this year for the community.
Holmes said with COVID-19 they are asking the public to follow social distancing guidelines and to only light personal fireworks on their own property.
“We just ask that everybody does follow the social distancing guidelines and if they come in their own vehicles just to stick with their groups of people that they show up with that way, you know, they’re all following their own guidelines and everyone can remain safe…We are asked to encourage everyone to limit their fireworks to lighting them around their own homes. Just because it is kind of hectic around the fairgrounds anyways when people are parked in close quarters and everyone is trying to light off fireworks.”
Though the fairgrounds will be closed to the public, Holmes said everyone should still have a great view.
