Toole County COVID-19 Outbreak Continues to Grow

SHELBY, Mont. (NMB) – Toole County’s COVID-19 outbreak has grown significantly in recent days.

Since Friday, the Department of Public Health and Human Services has confirmed nine additional COVID-19 cases in Toole County, for a total of 15. Three of those have resulted in death.

A press release says from the Toole County Health Department says a majority of their cases have an association with the “local health care system and subsequent exposures related to health care. Health care professionals are following protocol to be able to protect themselves and the community while still being able to offer critical health care services.”

In a statement, Toole County Health Director Blair Tomsheck said, “As the virus progresses, it is of the utmost importance that people remain at home and follow CDC and Montana directives.”

The Toole County Health Department says they are working with “the state of Montana and all Toole County Health Care systems to determine the best course of action to keep community members safe from exposure.”
