Track and Field Results – Havre Invite

The Havre track and field teams continued to dominate on Saturday, besting the other schools that came to town to win their invite. Both teams finished with scores well above the rest of the field with the boys being at 179.5 points and the girls having 200 points on the day.

In the 100-meter dash, the Blue Ponies found themselves with the top four runners for the boys and five of the top six for the girls. Michael Emge ran a personal record 11.20, beating teammate Brayden Kimberling’s 11.37, Brisbin Reiter’s 11.65, and Carson Harris’ 11.78 (which was his best timed 100 ever). Kaydance Reiter won for the girls with a 12.62, while Macy Brandon finished second at 13.02, running the best time of her career. Kyanna Jarvis ran a 13.21 to break her best mark as well to finish third.

Reiter and Brandon were again 1-2 in the 200-meter dash with Reiter winning it at 26.09 and Brandon closing in at 26.61. Kimberling got second in the 200 with his 23.59, while Rhett Wertheimer was third at 24.06.

Caleb Tomac earned a top-2 finish in the 800 meters, running it in 52.87. Moving ahead in the longer distances, Ashlyn Ford again took first place in the 1600, running a 5:35:97, while Hailey Gingery was second at 5:46:11. The pair would finish in that same fashion in the 3200 meters with Ford’s 12:11:08 and Gingery’s 12:48:36.

Mason Gregoire won the boys’ 1600 meters, running that event in 4:45:43, his best mark ever. Jayvon Bigknife ran his best time ever in that event, placing third at 5:06:44. Another 1-2 finish for Havre was in the boys’ 3200 meters as Tomac ran 9:51:81 and Gregoire ran 10:28:91.

In hurdles, Havre had the top runners with Jarvis winning the girls’ 100 meters at 16:11, a new personal best. Ciaran Courtnage finished the 110 meters in 17:53, also a top mark in his career. Ari Gary took third in the 100-meter hurdles at 17:18. For the 300-meter hurdles, the Blue Ponies had a first-place finisher in Jacob Herring (42.97) and a second-place finisher in Amaya Jarvis (51.66).

Onto the relays, Havre won both and actually placed a second team in the top 2. The boys’ A-team of Reiter, Emge, Harris, and Kimberling beat the B-team of Herring, Wertheimer, Trayden Riley, and Shane Patacsil, (44.26 to 46.02). Reiter, Brandon, Kyanna Jarvis, and Macee May made up the girls’ team that ousted the competition with a first-place time of 51.08. The 4-by-400 relay was also a Havre sweep at the top with Tomac, Wertheimer, Tre Gary, and Tyson Brandon winning it in a time of 3:41:94. On the girls’ side in the 4-by-400, Brandon, Ford, Ari Gary, and Amaya Jarvis were winners, running it in 4:24:71.

In the field for the boys, Tommy Lewis beat his personal mark by half a foot in the shot put, throwing it at 48 and a half feet to win the event. Andrew Allen threw his best discus at 112 feet and nine inches and came in third. Herring also finished third in the javelin, throwing it 135 feet and 7 inches. Teegan Solomon finished second in the pole vault at 10 feet.

In the discus on the girls’ side, the Blue Ponies were second and third with Roma Gum’s 94 feet, six inches, while Madison Reber launched it 86 feet and 3 inches. Gum also got second in the javelin at 104 feet and five inches. High jump results were a top-3 finish for Havre as Kyanna Jarvis got five feet and two inches off the ground and Ari Gary did the same, which was her best ever. Taylor Leeds got nine feet off the ground in the pole vault to win that event, while May jumped a personal best 16 feet and 11 inches to win the long jump. May also got second in the triple jump at 33 feet and two inches.
