(Poplar) The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office says that a traffic stop near Poplar on September 20th resulted in the seizure of over a pound of suspected methamphetamine. It’s believed the drugs were intended for distribution on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. Four subjects were arrested. Derrick Nicholas Bird from Detroit, Michigan, Vincent Earl Thompson from Clinton Township,Michigan,Michael Dean Grey Bear of Poplar and Kristi Lynn Boxer of Brockton.
Byrd and Thompson have been charged in Montana District Court with felony possession of dangerous drugs with the intent to distribute and tampering with evidence. Grey Bear and Boxer have been charged with the same offenses in Fort Peck Tribal Court.
The arrests were a collaborative effort of Multiple agencies including the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Peck Tribal Police, Montana Highway Patrol, DCI, Valley County Sheriff’s Office, Roosevelt County Attorney’s Office and the DEA.
