(NMB) – A new chapter has arrived for the 2025 Big Sky State Games and two highline athletes will be there to help usher a new era.
For the first time ever, this year’s 40th BSSG will feature the 100m race with a field full of the treasure states top collegiate, post-collegiate and high school sprinters. BSSG committee has announced the invitational field. Representing Havre in the event is Bule Pony Senior Macy Brandon, and Malta senior Dawson Hammond that will take the track.
Macy Brandon holds the high school record for the 400m with a time of 57.94. She is a three-time all-state track and field athlete and finished third at the 2025 state championships in the 100m, 200m and 400m races.
Dawson Hammond holds the school record for the 100 and 4x100m relay. Hammond has been named to the all-state track team, team captain and most valuable runner. At the 2025 class B state track meet Hammond placed fourth in the 100m.
The BSSG 100m race will take place alongside the Montana mile as part of the opening ceremonies at Lockwood High School Stadium Friday, July 18, at 7 p.m.
