LAUREL (NMB) On Saturday September 17th a 16 year old Park City male driver was fatally injured in a single vehicle incident, according to a report from the Montana Highway Patrol.
At two minutes after midnight the driver, operating a Honda Accord was traveling west on Old Highway 10 West Secondary road near 21st Avenue in Laurel when the vehicle went off the right side of the road, re-entered the roadway then slid sideways. The vehicle then went off the left side of the road, rotated, and struck a tree before coming to rest on its roof, partially submerged in water.
The 16 year old male passenger, also from Park City, was injured and sent to Billing Clinic. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene.
Both were wearing a seatbelt. The road surface was wet and speed is a suspected factor.
