HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Office of Governor Greg Gianforte announced that the state’s unemployment rate remained at a record-low of 2.3 percent for April, which is the fifth lowest in the nation.
The national rate is 3.6 percent.
Inflation remains very high, with a 13 percent increase in prices in Montana from January 2021 to April 2022.
The state’s labor force and total employment reached record highs in April. 2,232 additional workers were employed over March, bringing Montana’s total employment to 547,573.
Montana’s labor force grew by 2,268 new workers in April, and is now at a record high of 560,706.
