(Fort Belknap) The United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resource Conservation Service says they’ll be hosting two public facing meetings near the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation ahead of a planned project affecting two lakes in the area.
An Environmental Assessment for Lake Seventeen and Little Suction Creek and associated watersheds in Blaine and Phillips Counties is planned in the near future, with the project’s stated goal being to conserve and improve habitat for fish and wildlife, enhance public recreation, and manage agricultural water.
The two meetings will be held on Tuesday, September 17th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Agency Bingo Hall, in Harlem, and the second on Thursday, September 19th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Kills at Night Center in Hays.
