The Havre Public Schools Board of Trustees met for their regular meeting on Tuesday night. The Pony Pride award was presented to Kelly Veis, a technology specialist with the district. In old business, the trustees passed a revision to their food service policy. This change was needed so that the district could work with Producer Partnership out of Livingston to accept beef and swine donations from area producers to the district.
In new business the board heard a presentation from John Doran with the Bridged Health Alliance about the State of Montana School Trust health insurance program, the district can choose to join for their employees for the 2026-27 school year. The board will make a decision on this plan at their October board meeting. In other new business, the board started the process of revising policies for the district based upon bills that passed during the 2025 legislature. These changes were approved on 1st reading and will have their second reading at the October meeting. Finally the board approved the 2025-26 school year contract with Sundance Estates for the health snack vending machines at Havre High School.
