(Yellowstone) – A woman from Phoenix, Arizona was gored by a bison near the Lake Lodge Cabins on the north shore of Lake Yellowstone this Monday.
The woman was walking with another individual in a field in front of the cabins when they saw two bison. Upon seeing the bison the woman and the individual turned to walk away only for one of the bison to charge where it then gored the woman. The woman sustained severe damage to her chest and abdomen and was flown out to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
It is unknown how close individuals got to the bison before it charged and the incident remains under investigation.
