(Mammoth Hot Springs, WY) – Yellowstone National Park is extending the public comment period on the draft Bison Management Environmental Impact Statement till October 10th in order to allow the public 60 days to comment on it.
The Bison Management Environmental Impact Statement draft introduces a range of action for managing bison inside the park. This plan will allow the Nation Park Service to evaluate bison management based on new scientific information and changed circumstances, explore ways to reduce bison being sent to slaughter, and to continue working closely with Tribal Nations and agency partners in management.
