(Helena) – Young hunters in Montana can get a head start on pheasant season this weekend. The annual youth pheasant hunting weekend runs this Saturday and Sunday, September 19th and 20th.
To boost their chances, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is releasing about 2,500 birds across state lands. Officials say the “Roosters for Recruitment” program aims to help new hunters find success and build a lasting interest in conservation.Stocking will continue throughout the regular season.
