1 Killed, 1 Injured in Rollover Crash Near Geraldine

CHOUTEAU COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – A 25-year-old Geraldine man was killed and a 28-year-old Geraldine man was injured in a rollover crash in Chouteau County early Sunday morning.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred at 2:13 AM on Panton Road east of Geraldine.

The 25-year-old man was driving a Ford F150 westbound and drifted onto the right shoulder. The driver then corrected back sharply to the left and overcorrected back to the right.

The vehicle rotated counterclockwise and left the road edge, tripped and rolled onto its roof.

The driver was declared dead at the scene, while the passenger was life-flighted to a Great Falls Hospital after being transported by ambulance to Fort Benton.

Neither occupant of the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash.

The road was dry.
