Havre, MT – Friday night at Blue Pony Stadium Havre high football fell to the Billings Central Rams 41-18. The Blue Ponies entered the lockeroom at halftime trailing 14-12.
Multiple turnovers by the Blue Pony offense led to short fields and scores for the BC Rams in the second half. Head coach Jake Eldridge spoke with NMB Sports postgame on what positives he saw from his team despite the loss.
“We came out and we fought. We didn’t do things perfect, but the kids didn’t give up. . . I thought we did a lot of really good things but obviously there are some things that we got a cleanup that hurt us pretty bad at times. but we’re growing and we’re getting better. I love the makeup of these guys and how they care about this team and how they continue to work and get better.”
The Blue Ponies first touchdown of the ball game on a pick six from senior Ceal Leeds. Havre’s two Quarterbacks that saw the field in sophomore Cooper Walton and freshman Maddox Keller each threw one touchdown in the game. However, special teams issues lead to no converted PAT’s or 2pt conversions.
Next up Havre hits the road for the first time this season with a trip to Miles City on Friday with kickoff at 7p.m.
