2019 Blaine County Fair Takes Place This Week in Chinook

CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – The 2019 Blaine County Fair kicks off this week in Chinook. While the main events start on Independence Day, Fair Manager Debbie Ramberg says they have events starting Tuesday.

“Starting actually on Tuesday the 2nd, the FFA and 4H Horse show will be going on in the George Ortner Arena, that start’s at 8am through 2pm. Then on Wednesday the 3rd, we’ll have our Little Kids Rodeo starting at 1pm, so they’ll have FFA Concessions and the Pepsi Wagon open in the back.”

Ramberg says that this year is also likely to be the last year they will hold the Pig Wrestling event.

“They come out of Grable, Wyoming, and that’s just a long way to haul up here and I think the family’s just getting tired of it. Yeah, it will probably the last year, so if you want to get on a Pig Wrestling team, you need to get your teams organized, and it is a lot of fun to watch, and partake in.”

The Pig Wrestling event will take place on Thursday at 4 PM. On Friday and Saturday, the Bear Paw Roundup PRCA Rodeo will start at 7 each night, and on Sunday, the Demolition Derby will start at 4 PM.
