(Helena) Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen says 220 candidate filings have been processed by the Secretary of State’s Office as of 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 26.
To date, four candidates have filed to represent Montana in Washington D.C., two candidates each for United States Senator and United States Representative in district 2.
Four statewide offices have also received a candidate filing – Attorney General, State Auditor, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and the Clerk of the Supreme Court.
In terms of party preference, 115 Republican candidate filings have been processed compared to 67 Democratic and three Libertarian processed filings.
All this according to a press release published Friday.
