HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Board of Health met virtually on Friday afternoon to provide the latest COVID-19 update.
Health Officer Kim Larson says that as of Friday morning, 24 percent of the estimated 12,328 Hill County residents at least 16 years of age are considered fully vaccinated after either receiving both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson. An additional 37 percent of eligible residents have received at one dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. This means that around 60 percent of the eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
These numbers include any Hill County resident that received a COVID-19 vaccine, regardless of which County it was administered in. The only people that would not be counted are those that received the vaccine out-of-state.
Larson says that they currently only have the Moderna vaccines, but could get an allocation of the Johnson & Johnson vaccines in the coming weeks, although that is unclear. The Pfizer vaccine is the only one approved for 16 and 17 year-olds, and Hill County is working with Fort Belknap and Cascade County to ensure those interested can receive it.
Larson says they have a very short wait list for people to apply to receive the vaccine and urges anyone interested to call 400-2369.
Other locations administering COVID-19 vaccines in Hill County include Western Drug Pharmacy, Gary & Leo’s IGA, and Wal-Mart.
As of Thursday evening, Hill County had reported a total of 1,931 COVID-19 cases. Three are considered active, and three people are in quarantine after being identified as close contacts. There have been 42 COVID-19 related deaths of Hill County residents reported.
The next Health Board COVID-19 update is scheduled for April 2nd at 1 PM.
