HILL COUNTY (NMB) On Wednesday afternoon the Chippewa Cree Tribal Resources Department Facebook page at around 3PM reported a wildland fire in the Eagle Creek area on the Beaver Creek side of the mountains.
Initial reports stated the the fire was in the Baldy Mountains south of the Ski Bowl area fueled by wind and dry conditions.
By 5PM emergency agencies were gathering on the scene and the public was advised to stay out of the area and only emergency personnel were allowed access to Beaver Creek Park south of 2nd Lake
By 6PM Hill County Emergency Service Coordinator and Fire Marshall Amanda Frickel gave New Media Broadcasters the update that DNRC with mobile and air supports along with local agencies were on the scene.
Frickel stated that that at 6PM Wednesday there were no reports of injuries and the fire was bordering Hill, Chouteau, and Blaine county boundaries.
One website gave an uncorroborated estimated of 800 acres affected by the fire..
