(NMB) The Montana State University-Northern Lights wrestling team took part in the NAIA Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament Saturday and Sunday in Salem, Oregon.
Six grapplers made their way into the Saturday portion of the meet. At 141#, Caleb Morales was eliminated by pinfall.
133 pounder Kolten Powers finished 3rd, winning the consolation round by 6-1 decision. Ryan Graves took 4th at 157#, falling to an 11-8 decision. Also claiming 4th was Orion Thievridge (THEEV-ridge), after losing by an 11-8 decision at 174#.
Two Lights made the final round, both falling to take second place – Justin Windauer, dropping a 5-2 decision at 165#, and 285 pounder Shane Mattson, runner up by a 4-1 decision.
Once all Lights qualifiers have been determined, the Northern wrestlers will be on their way to Park City, kansas for the 2026 NAIA Wrestling Championships March 5-7.
