(Havre) As previously reported by New Media Broadcasters, the City of Havre is currently under a boil water advisory.
The main cause of this is the timeline of inconsistent water treatment lining up with a spike in cases of Giardia, a diarrhetic infection that can be caused by water that wasn’t properly disinfected.
As a result, the Hill County Heath Department is running a survey asking the public if they’ve experienced the symptoms of Giardisis. New Media Broadcasters spoke with Hill County Health Officer and Department Director Kim Berg for more information.
“What we are doing is trying to get a better, clearer picture of the illness that is affecting Havre. Just by taking this survey for us, it gives us a clearer picture of the GI illnesses that might be going around the town. It does not link it to the water system it does not link it to Giardia, however it can give us a better picture.”
