HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre’s Festival Days is this weekend and the annual Steve Heil Memorial Car Show is set for 6 PM on Friday night. Ryan Albertson says they organize the event to remember his father-in-law and his love of classic cars. He says they average between 80 to 100 cars every year.
“We like getting people together that have cars. They’re all kind of like-minded. So, basically, it’s just show up and hang around and hang out. We’ve got Fat Billy and the Boys are bringing their food trailer down. So there will be food available to purchase.”
Albertson says that people can just show up, but registering for the free event gets you entered into their contest.
“We do one award, that’s a People’s Choice Award and you have to register to be able to be part of the People’s Choice. And then the People’s Choice is exactly what it sounds like. People walk around, we give out strips of paper to the public and at the end of the night, or towards the end of the night, we go off of what everybody gave us for the number and we give the Best of Show.”
The free Car Show runs from 6 to 9 PM on 3rd Street from 5th Avenue to 2nd Avenue. To register a car, call 390-3916 or you can register before the show. Registration and admission to the show are all free.
